ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Jennifer Teuscher began her dance training at Jacqueline’s School of Ballet under the direction of Jacqueline P. Colledge. As a student she was awarded scholarships to multiple intensive study programs. Later she danced professionally with Utah Metropolitan Ballet for three years. During her time there Jennifer performed in many full-length ballets including “Coppelia”, “Cinderella”, “Legend of Timpanogos”, and “The Nutcracker” along with many contemporary ballet pieces. Some of her favorite experiences were travelling and performing in China, and performing George Balanchine’s “Serenade”. Jennifer attended Utah Valley University on a dance scholarship and later finished her bachelor’s degree in dance choreography and performance at Brigham Young University Idaho.
Jennifer has been teaching ballet for over 20 years. For the past 5 years she has been teaching ballet at Brigham Young University-Idaho and has worked to grow the Ballet program, developing new courses and creating performance opportunities for the dancers there. Jennifer loves to teach, choreograph, and direct and in 2023 she was able to co-direct Brigham Young University Idaho’s Dance Alliance team and tour to New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. She believes strongly in creating a positive, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment for her students and loves seeing students grow into strong, responsible, and compassionate human beings through the study of dance. Jennifer is excited to join Idaho Ballet Theatre as a director.
